Overview

Calibration plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and traceability of electrical measurements. LCR meters are widely used for measuring inductance (L), capacitance (C), and resistance (R) parameters of electronic components and circuits. These instruments are extensively utilized in research laboratories, electronics manufacturing industries, quality control departments, and testing facilities. To maintain confidence in measurement results and ensure compliance with quality standards, periodic calibration of LCR meters is essential.

FARE Labs has established a state-of-the-art facility for the calibration of LCR meters, supported by world-class reference standards and highly skilled metrology professionals. The laboratory offers highly accurate calibration services with traceability to the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), India, ensuring international acceptance and recognition of calibration results.

Parameters Covered in Calibration

1. AC Resistance-100 mΩ to 100 kΩ @ 1 kHz
2. Capacitance-
1 pF to 1 mF @ 1 kHz & 1 µF to 1 mF @ 100 Hz
3. Inductance-100 µH to 10 H @ 1 kHz

The laboratory is equipped with Precision AC Resistance Standards, Capacitance Standards, and Inductance Standards. Resistance Standards are periodically calibrated and maintained with traceability to NPL, India.
To achieve superior measurement uncertainty and enhanced confidence in calibration results, FARE Labs employs an advanced substitution calibration methodology. In this method, the Device Under Calibration (DUC) is compared directly against a highly accurate Reference LCR Meter. Identical reference standards are measured sequentially by both the reference instrument and the customer’s LCR meter under controlled environmental conditions.
The Reference LCR Meter used in this process is directly traceable to NPL, India. This comparison-based approach significantly reduces the influence of connection effects, fixture errors, and environmental variations, thereby providing improved measurement uncertainty compared to conventional methods.

FARE Labs operates under the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL accreditation, ensuring that all calibration activities are performed in accordance with internationally accepted quality standards.
