Air Purifier Testing & Performance Validation
Reliable Data. Measurable Performance. Informed Decisions.
Need dependable evidence of how your air purifier performs? FARE Labs provides scientific air purifier testing and performance validation for manufacturers, OEMs, importers, distributors, consumer appliance brands and product developers. We evaluate portable indoor air purifiers under defined laboratory conditions, helping clients verify specifications, compare designs, identify improvements and support technical performance claims with measurable data. Our focus is service-led: choosing the right tests, documenting conditions and delivering useful results for engineering teams, purchasing teams and brand owners. We tailor evaluations to the questions behind each customer enquiry.
Our Air Purifier Testing Services
- Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) Testing: CADR indicates how effectively a purifier delivers particle-cleaned air under specified conditions. Where applicable, CADR testing supports product benchmarking, evaluation of design changes and verification of performance specifications. The selected method and product configuration determine the applicable measurement approach.
- Airborne Particulate Matter Reduction: Controlled particle-challenge testing measures the device’s ability to reduce suspended particulate concentrations. Results can help assess filtration performance, compare operating modes and understand the impact of filter, fan or airflow design changes.
- PM2.5 and PM10 Assessment: We assess changes in PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations, where included in the agreed scope. Measurements are interpreted with reference to the test environment, background concentrations, sampling arrangement and operating conditions.
- Overall Air Purifier Performance Evaluation: Performance assessment considers the complete product, not simply its filter. Testing may examine the effect of operating settings, product configuration and performance consistency to support engineering, procurement and quality-control decisions.
- Noise Measurement: Operating noise is measured at defined settings and measurement positions, where required. These results help manufacturers consider the balance between air-cleaning performance and acoustic comfort for offices, bedrooms and other indoor applications.
- Power Consumption Measurement: Power measurements evaluate electricity consumption during selected operating modes and, where applicable, standby operation. Findings support energy-use comparisons and product optimisation.
Applicable Test Methods and Standards
Depending on the product, market and testing objective, relevant methods may include IEC 63086-2-1:2024, ANSI/AHAMAC-1 and IS 17531:2021. FARE Labs confirms the applicable edition, method clauses, operating conditions and reporting requirements before testing. Testing feasibility and any accreditation or conformity statement are limited to the laboratory’s confirmed scope; a performance report is not automatically a product certification.
Who Benefits from These Services?
Manufacturers and OEMs can verify design improvements and compare configurations. Importers and distributors can review supplier performance specifications. Appliance brands can benchmark models, while research and development teams can study filters, airflow, fan speed and other design variables. Independent laboratory data provides a stronger basis for informed product decisions.
How Our Testing Process Works
Share your product model, datasheet, intended application and desired parameters. Our team reviews feasibility, identifies suitable methods, defines sample and operating requirements, and agrees on reporting expectations. Testing is then conducted under the approved conditions. After technical review, FARE Labs issues a report describing the evaluated parameters, observations, measured results and relevant conditions.
